Sunday Breakfast at Café Flore in Fort Myers

Café Flore is a locally owned café and coffee shop in Fort Myers, just off of Six Mile Cypress. Its offering of unique and quick breakfast items and expansive coffee selection are just a few of the reasons you should stop into this little gem.

Cuisine: coffee, quick breakfast, pastries

Great for: couples, Sunday breakfast, just 2 friends catching up, early risers

Cafe Flore - Salted Caramel Latte

Café Flore is a new addition to the Colonial Square shopping plaza on Six Mile Cypress. They only opened a few months ago, but if you check out their 73 reviews on Google with an average 4.9 star-rating, you’ll see why it’s worth a try.

About Café Flore

As mentioned above, Café Flore opened around 3 months ago. I thought it was quite brave to open right next to a behemoth like First Watch, but it seems that they are holding their ground so far! (PS: Café Flore > First Watch.)

The inside of the café is small, but it is very cozy and quaint if you want to grab a quick bite with a friend or two. We got there around 9:30 and there was 1 table open, and then the other few tables were quickly taken. I recommend that if you plan to go on a weekend for breakfast or lunch, try to get there early!

It seems like they also do a lot of to-go/takeout business, and from the looks of it, they’re also on some of the top food delivery platforms.

Café Flore’s Menu

For a small place, I was impressed by the amount of food options they had. I’ll start there (coffee next). Their breakfast options are simple but filling and full of fresh ingredients. You won’t find a lot of heavy foods on the breakfast menu, which I like for a Sunday breakfast. For lunchtime, they offer flatbreads, paninis, and smoothies. They also carry an assortment of desserts, one of which I got to try! (More below.)

The food is great, and the coffee pairs amazingly with it! They have a rather large coffee menu and I would say it even rivals that of Starbucks. They have their base drinks (like lattes, cappuccinos, and mochas), but it looks like you can have any coffee made any way! The café also offers a good selection of milk: regular, almond, and oatmeal, to name a few.

What I Ordered at Café Flore

Cafe Flore - Avocado Toast
  • Iced salted caramel latte with oat milk – I’ve been on an oat milk kick lately, and adding it to this latte was perfect. This drink was the perfect combination of creaminess, sweet, salty, and bold. I would definitely order this again exactly as I ordered it the first time.

  • Avocado toast – a woman had this on her plate when I walked in, and I had to try it. They use sourdough bread, avocado, salt/pepper, cherry tomatoes, and a little bit of balsamic drizzle. This is, by far, some of the best avocado toast I’ve had. (Spoken like a true millennial.)

  • Brownie – the owner (I believe) passed around these little mini brownies to everyone sitting inside and it was such a pleasant surprise! The brownie was full of flavor and the perfect size for a breakfast dessert.

Cafe Flore - Brownie

If a quiet breakfast or amazing coffee is up your alley, I highly recommend checking out Café Flore. I know I will be back!
