Rock’n Sushi is a lowkey hidden gem in Gateway, a suburb/neighborhood in Fort Myers. They offer Japanese and Thai cuisine, along with sushi.
Cuisine: Japanese, Thai, and sushi
Great for: happy hour, date night, dinner with friends, takeout
I went to Rock’n Sushi for a lowkey happy hour and dinner with a friend. First, I had no idea this place existed and it seems like it’s one of those places that everyone in Gateway knows about.

Second, while the name is Rock’n Sushi, the Chicken Pad Thai is some of the best I’ve had.
Rock’n Sushi’s Atmosphere
As I mentioned, I’d never even heard of Rock’n Sushi before my friend told me she ordered takeout from there quite often. Being a sucker for Pad Thai, I knew I just had to try it.
We decided to meet for a quiet Tuesday night dinner and happy hour, and I was the first to arrive. The restaurant is tucked away in Gateway, right near Skinny Dogz. As soon as I walked in, I was surprised to see how modern and open the space was.
There is ample seating, and the bar is also a nice place to sit. We sat near the back, where you can see water from a lake or retention pond.
The vibes inside Rock’n Sushi are laid back and the staff was friendly and attentive. The happy hour specials were nice, too.
Rock’n Sushi’s Menu
Their menu is quite large for a place that has “sushi” in the name. They’ve got several appetizers to choose from, as well as a collection of Japanese and Thai cuisine. I’m not much of a sushi eater, but I imagine this place is a sushi lover’s paradise. There are SO MANY ROLLS.
What We Ordered
I’m a huge Pad Thai fan. So, naturally, I knew that was what I wanted to get. Here’s a full overview of what we ate.
