Elevated Chinese Food in Fort Myers at Ginger Bistro

Fort Myers is home to dozens of Chinese food restaurants. We’ve certainly tried our fair share of Chinese food around the area over the years, but if you’re looking for something a bit more than fast-food Chinese, give Ginger Bistro a try.

Inside Ginger Bistro

I’ve probably passed Ginger Bistro a hundred times since it’s across the street from Page Field and never stepped inside. My first impression after walking in was that the restaurant was a lot bigger – and fancier – than it looks from the outside.

Inside Ginger Bistro, it’s very modernly decorated and the tables are spaced out just perfectly. There are 2 main rooms and as I mentioned above, it’s a lot larger than it looks from the outside. The atmosphere is mellow and very suitable for date night. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t too busy or too slow – it was just right.

Ginger Bistro’s Food

The menu at Ginger Bistro is expansive to say the least – they have traditional Chinese dishes and a whole lot more. Seafood, chicken, beef, duck, noodles, and appetizers are a few items you’ll find on the menu.

They also offer Dim Sum, which is a popular item for them if you read any of their reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, etc.

What we Ordered from Ginger Bistro

During our visit, we played it safe and stuck with what we know. After all, if your favorite dishes are done well, you’ll be more likely to try something new next time!

  • Wonton Soup – I love wonton soup. This soup was good, but I wasn’t aware that there was shrimp in it. I know and love the regular wonton soup you find at a fast-food Chinese restaurant, so it was kind of a surprise when I ordered from here. I am not a fan of shrimp, so I ate around it. But overall, it was tasty!

  • Sweet & Sour Chicken – this is my go-to everywhere. I realize it’s very basic, but I was not disappointed at all in this dish! It tasted like standard sweet & sour chicken, but just kicked up a few levels.

  • General Tso’s Chicken – this is Sean’s go-to pretty much everywhere. The General Tso’s had a great mix of veggies and doable spice.

  • Rice – we ordered white rice with our food because it mixes well in the sauce. Keep in mind when you go that the chicken dishes do not come with rice and that has to be ordered separately.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Ginger Bistro

All in all, Ginger Bistro is a great option for when you’re craving Chinese food but want something a little richer and more elevated than fast-food Chinese food.
