Blu Sushi is a staple for any sushi lover living in Fort Myers. With 2 convenient locations (one off of McGregor Blvd and one in Downtown Fort Myers), Blu Sushi has taken the sushi eating experience to a new level with their abundance of sushi rolls and a fantastic ambiance.
Great for: date night, dinner with friends, happy hour, lunch with coworkers
Their tagline “The Art of Sushi and Outrageous Cocktails” certainly lives up to its name. As you might know from checking out the rest of our blog, we are not much into seafood/sushi. However, Blu is where we make an exception.
We’ve been going to Blu Sushi now for several years, and it never disappoints. As soon as you walk into either location, you feel as though you’ve stepped out of Fort Myers and into a swanky New York City restaurant that requires a reservation 2 months in advance.
The 2 locations each look unique, but both offer the same great experience. At the Downtown Fort Myers location, you’re close to all of the other restaurants and an amazing ice cream shop just a couple of doors down. There’s also seating outside on the sidewalk, great for events or people watching (if you’re into that sort of thing).
The McGregor location is in the cutest little plaza of other restaurants, like Blanc. There are shops in here as well and it’s pretty close to Fort Myers Beach.
The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Also, if you’re really into sushi, they have endless sushi (depending on the day of the week). If there’s a sushi lover in your life, definitely take them for that!
Now, onto the food! Here’s what we’ve ordered at Blu Sushi. Some photos included in this blog are photos of others’ food that we did not try.
What We Ordered from Blu Sushi
Ginger salad – this photo was taken on a Friday afternoon, and 5 days later, I was still talking about how amazing and FRESH this salad was. It was one of the best ginger salads I’ve had in the area.
Miso soup – another favorite. This soup was the perfect start to my meal
Lava Drops – as noted above, we’re not huge fans of sushi. But this roll is the one that I get every time and it is delicious. It’s fried crab and cream cheese with eel sauce. So amazing and one of my favorite dishes.
All in all, we’re big fans of Blu Sushi and we highly recommend you try it out the next time you’re looking for sushi in Fort Myers.
